Dr. Ivana Gađanski

Dr. Ivana Gadjanski is Research Associate Professor at BioSense Institute, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She graduated from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade as the 1st in the class (2003), obtained PhD in Neuroscience (summa cum laude -oral presentation) from Georg-August University & Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Goettingen, Germany (2007) and worked as a postdoctorate researcher at Ludwig-Maximillian University, Munich, Germany. Ivana then turned to bioengineering field and spent a year as Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, USA – Lab for Stem cells and Tissue Engineering (Head: prof. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic). In BioSense, she leads BECA (Biomolecular engineering and cellular agriculture) group within the Centre for Biosystems, working on biosensors for biomedical and agrifood applications and is moving further into bioengineering in cellular agriculture field – developing solutions for cultivated meat and other alternative protein-based food & feed products. Ivana is a grantee of the Good Food Institute and has been coordinating Horizon2020 projects DRAGON GA 810755 and IPANEMA GA 872662 and national project LABOUR – LAMP-based biosensors for detection of GMO in agriculture No. 6710 funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
