Research Highlight: SnO₂/MXene Heterostructures for Enhanced Gas Sensing

At the ECerS XIX Conference in Dresden, Dr. Slavica Savić Ružić (Know4Nano co-coordinator) presented her research on SnO₂/MXene heterostructures for advanced gas sensing applications.

The study explores the synergistic effects of combining metal oxide (SnO₂) and MXene materials, demonstrating improved sensitivity, selectivity, and response times compared to individual components. The work was developed in collaboration with the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research (IMSI), University of Belgrade.

This research underlines Know4Nano’s focus on novel nanomaterial heterostructures and their potential for next-generation functional sensors in environmental monitoring and industrial applications.
