Dr. Alessia Naso is a specialist in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Technology Transfer at the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy, where she serves in the Technology Transfer Office. Holding a degree in Biological Sciences and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology, Dr. Naso has managed IPR and technology transfer at CNR since 2008, with expertise in the evaluation, filing, and commercialization of patents across sectors including life sciences, medicine, biotechnology, and agri-food, as well as new plant varieties and trademarks. Her role involves advising on and drafting NDAs, MDTAs, co-ownership and technology transfer agreements, and defining protection strategies within collaborative R&D and consortium agreements. An RTTP certification candidate, Dr. Naso provides extensive training on IPR and technology transfer and is an active member of various IPR committees within CNR and European projects. Her recent roles under Italy’s PNRR programs include coordinating the “Open Innovation & Development of KET” team at the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC) and managing technology transfer for the “Robotics and AI for Socio-Economic Empowerment Ecosystem” (RAISE). Additionally, she leads the Task Force on IPR management for the “National Center for Gene Therapy and Drug Based on RNA Technology” (CN3-RNA), furthering CNR’s strategic initiatives in technology transfer and innovation.
