Dr. Georges Dubourg

Dr. Georges Dubourg has held the position of Senior Researcher at the BioSense Institute since 2015. His academic journey began at the University of Bordeaux, France, where he completed his doctoral studies from 2009 to 2012. During this time, he conducted innovative research at the IMS (Integration from Material to System) laboratory, focusing on organic microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and biochemical sensors. Following his doctoral work, he expanded his expertise as a Postdoctoral Researcher in microfluidics at the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics, and Nanotechnology (IEMN) at the University of Lille, France, from 2013 to 2014. Dr. Dubourg’s research is at the forefront of several cutting-edge fields, including microfluidics and Organ-On-a-Chip technologies, flexible electronics, and nanomaterial-based sensors. His work has significant applications across the agrifood and medical sectors, reflecting his commitment to addressing real-world challenges. He possesses extensive knowledge of various micro- and nano-manufacturing techniques, including laser technology, photolithography, and advanced printing technologies. As an accomplished researcher, he has contributed to 15 scientific publications, including articles in prestigious journals such as Advanced Materials, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Science of the Total Environment. Furthermore, Dr. Dubourg has actively participated in several international initiatives, contributing to multiple projects within the Horizon 2020 program. Notably, from January 2018 to June 2023, he coordinated the CISTEM project, which received funding from the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation program. This initiative fostered a vibrant tapestry of international collaboration, bringing together academic partners from Europe, the United States, and Argentina, along with European biotech companies, to advance the development of Organ-On-a-Chip technology.
