Dr. Slavica Savić Ružić

Dr. Slavica Savić Ružić is a Senior Researcher at the Center for Sensing Technologies of the BioSense Institute and co-coordinator of the Know4Nano project. She obtained her BSc in Physical Chemistry from the Faculty of Physical Chemistry at the University of Belgrade and her PhD in Materials in Electronics from the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad in 2009. Her experience includes participation in numerous national and international projects, where she coordinated a bilateral research project, as well as one funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2012, she was a visiting research scientist (postdoc) at Pontificia Universidade Católica (PUC) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is currently serving as the WP leader for two projects funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia: IDEAS-Microlabaptasens (2022–2024) and PRISM-Multisense (2023–2026). Prior to this, she also led the WP for the Horizon 2020 Twinning project NANOFACTS (2021–2024). Her research interests include materials science, advanced ceramic materials processing and characterization, solid-state chemistry, and physics. Her current activities focus on the synthesis and characterization of MOx as gas sensors, as well as (bio)sensors based on 2D materials for agricultural applications, medical devices for breath analysis, healthcare, and more. She is the author and co-author of 56 scientific papers in highly ranked journals, numerous conference papers, and one book chapter.
